If you are curious on the accommodation and the living condition in Korea. Please understand the land value in Korea is very high, especially in the areas of Seoul and the nearby areas are probably the most expensive in Korea. Seoul also ranks in the top 5 cities around the world for its high living cost and land value. That is why; you may not expect the housing you are living in now to be the same in Korea. It will be different and the accommodation in Korea is rather small than the western world but the accommodation will be newer in the rebuilt areas of Seoul and the satellite cities of Seoul and other big cities.

Not all areas, in Seoul and other big cities have nice housing. Poor accommodation and poor living standards may be a problem with the school and the teacher. Schools will try to treat you very well and they will try to find the best accommodation possible. In Korea, all accommodation requires a deposit of at least $10,000 US and a monthly rent from $300~600 US. This amount is provided by the school and the choice of accommodation is also made by the school. If by any chance the school offers you a poor accommodation, then this will lead to a problem with the teacher. The teacher may request a new accommodation or may leave the school. Since the accommodation is under a one year contract, this will be a big burden for the school. That is why; a school will try to get the best accommodation possible. Furnishings are also included. For example, you will get a bed, dresser, table, chairs, refrigerator, washer, TV, and small furnishings are included.

Most importantly, you will have heating, hot water and air-conditioning. The standard of living will be comfortable and the school doesn't want to lose you that is why they will try to get you a good accommodation. I hope the photos I have attached is useful to you. Please note, accommodations may change when the contract expires or when a new teacher arrives.
